IBB is committed to offer products characterized by the quality of the details and the search for innovative aesthetic elements. For this reason, many products have components or characteristic inserts made using fine materials and craft techniques. In our IBB collections, you can find accessories with details in porcelain, wood, crystal, Swarovski ™ crystal and Murano glass.
At IBB we use a very fine porcelain, which is made from mixtures with presence of Cao-linen and Feldspar. It is glazed with crystalline and then baked at a temperature between 1300 and 1400 ° C. All the porcelain elements used in the IBB accessories are custom-designed.
Some collections of accessories use wooden elements which add a touch of warmth to our products. The woods used by IBB are selected from those which are more predisposed to resist humidity: in particular, for bathroom accessories, the inserts used are in Teak or Wengé.
The main characteristic of our crystal is to contain, as compared to glass, a high amount of lead oxide (minimally 24%) which increases the density, the sonority and the elasticity thereby improving the aesthetic look and the properties which approach those of a diamond. The IBB products using crystal details are particularly prized for their extraordinary brilliance, which remains unchanged over time.
SWAROVSKI CRYSTAL ™
Swarovski is specialized in the production of crystal artefacts and owes its fame both to the high quality of workmanship as well as to the patented and specialized material used. Their crystal has a very high percentage of lead oxide (about 30%) but the exact formula is a guarded trade secrets. In addition to this, Swarovski is known for the quality of the cut of its products, as derived from patents that the founder, Daniel Swarovski glass cutter and jeweller, native in Bohemia, deposited in 1892.
IBB uses Swarovski products on some of our elegantly refined collections.
Some IBB collections are characterized by using inserts of prized Italian Murano glass made "by lamp". This artisan craft technique used during the Renaissance period in Venice and further developed during the eighteenth century, consists of modelling around a copper wire coated with the refractory glass paste material, which, through various hand processes and steps, is transformed into multi-coloured pearls. The glass pearls used by IBB as details in its accessories are made by Murano master artisans following our specific design requirements.
